I can offer you a custom design service in conjunction with online photo book manufacturers.

• Ideas for your Projects
The sky's the limit when it comes to the type of photo book projects that can be created, whether it be for yourself (eg. a wedding, holiday, family history), as a gift for others (eg. a special birthday, tribute album) or for business promotion purposes.

• Wedding Album Design
If you have an upcoming wedding in your family why not consider a beautiful photo book, as an alternative to the traditional album offered by professional photographers? It can incorporate official* and family photos, menus & wedding stationery, guest lists and other extras. You can either order multiple copies for others or I can design a smaller version for you to give as a memento to family or perhaps members of the bridal party. *As copyright belongs to the photographer you will need a release form for them to be printed in a photo book.

• Photo Book Types
Depending on which online photo book company is used there are a range of different sizes and finishes; from small A5 or square (7x7) through A4 and to large A3 Landscape or Large Square, in soft or hard covers, plain or photo covers.

• Getting Organised
Any project worth doing well needs a certain amount of planning. As I will not be familiar with the subjects and/or places in your photographs there needs to be an order in how your photos are presented. If they are all digital images then having them categorised into folders with appropriate headings will make the job much easier. MSWord or even email serves to present any text; especially for larger amounts. Captions can be added later if preferred. When prints are included, an A4 binder with plastic sleeves can divide up photos, with a page included with desired captions and headings.

**IMPORTANT NOTE** For best results, especially if you wish to enlarge your photos, it is very important to supply the original size images to me, NOT ones scaled for email purposes. An original size digital image is typically around 4 MB or 4000 KB or larger. Smaller images will not give you the results you want. Prints I prefer to scan myself so I can ensure accurate quality.

• My Custom Design Service
Once you’ve decided what type of photo book you want, and you’ve organised the photos you want to include, we talk in further detail about what you want to achieve with your project and then I design and lay out your photo book.
If text is to be included, large amounts are to be supplied up front, but small amounts like captions and headings can be added once the basic layout has been done and we have the numbered pages of the PDF preview to refer to.
When you are completely happy with the previewed layout, I upload your book to the online photo book manufacturer where it is printed and bound. Allow a minimum three weeks until delivery of your photobook.

• Design fees**
Please contact me for an outline of my design fee rates.
There are two basic rates depending on complexity of the project:
1) Photos, minimal text, plain background
2) Photos, larger amounts of text, photo backgrounds, embellishments.

• Photo Book Cover Design
A separate fee applies to the design of a softcover or image wrap photobook cover, as opposed to a hard cover with a linen or leather look.

• Scanning
I am happy to scan any prints that you may wish to include in your book for a per print cost (any editing work required may incur an extra fee). The fee includes scanned images supplied to you at completion.
